I have spent a great deal of time improving my booking process for my new clients. For clients looking at booking with me who would like to know how it all works, here is what to expect:

Our initial communication, whether via email, Facebook or over the phone. I will discuss what booking options I have (these can also be found on my packages page). I will explain with you in detail about what I as a celebrant offer as a service to you.

Once a client decides to book, I will prepare and send a booking pack. This e-pack includes a copy of my contract agreement. This contract is broken into many different sections and is a list of what is expected of me as your celebrant and of you as my client. The contract includes a range of scenarios such as bad weather, traffic etc, to give you piece of mind and answers to what will happen on the day.

Also attached will be a PDF of example ceremony wordings. This document is a basic guide of the general structure of a wedding ceremony. You may choose to use any of the wordings supplied within the PDF, or chose to use none at all. It is a guide to help us decide on the type of ceremony that will suit you most.

Last of all is your invoice. The invoice will have a breakdown of your booking deposit and balance. My payment policy is quite relaxed compared with other celebrants. I ask for a $100 non-refundable deposit. Why is this deposit non-refundable? Once I have confirmed a booking with a client, I have then locked that date aside for them and will not accept any new bookings for that date. So the deposit is safe-guarding myself aswell as you my client. The balance can be paid at anytime the client wishes up to one month before the event. As soon as any cleared payment is received from any of my clients, a receipt will be emailed for your records.

The next step is to arrange a meeting in person. I am happy to travel to clients homes or if they feel more comfortable to a coffee shop or similar. While I do try my best to meet clients needs, these meeting locations are required to be reasonably local. At our meeting you will receive your own black booking folder containing different information about the preparation of a marriage and what happens after the wedding.

The most important part of our initial meeting is completing the 'notice of intended marriage' document. This document is required by law to be completed by the couple at least one month before the wedding date. To ensure this form is filled out easily, I require my clients to supply a valid form of photo ID and a valid proof of birth. This can be a birth certificate or passport for example. These documents need to be the originals for me to confirm as copies are not allowable. Any name change, divorce or relevant death certificates from previous marriages will also be required.

During this meeting I will collect as much information about your plans for your ceremony for my own records. This will help me in creating a running sheet as well as creating your script for the ceremony.

Once our meeting is complete, over the duration of time between out meeting and your ceremony, I will send you drafts of running times and scripts from your base choices. Together we will work together to build a ceremony that is a perfect fit.

Prior to your ceremony but as close as possible to the day, the 'declaration of no legal impediment' document will be required to be signed. This will be explained to you at our initial meeting, and a time agreed upon. The day before your ceremony I will contact you to check everything is still going to plan and to confirm my arrival time.

On the day, I will arrive a minimum of 30 minutes prior to your ceremony start time. If required, I will supply a signing table, chairs and PA system for you use.  Once the ceremony is completed I will finalise all of your legal paperwork.

So, that is the veay basics of what is to be expected, while I work my magic behind the scenes completing your documents and files for the day. Any clients wishing to know more information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Well I must say I have been slack with my blog, but for due cause. I have been insanely busy taking new bookings into the next year and spots are filling fast. I have met with alot of new clients who I can't wait to start creating ceremonies with.

I wanted to send a shout out to a company who I recently had the pleasure to work alongside called Berry Vintage. They are a local family run business who specialise in rustic, boho and vintage style weddings and events based in Griffin in North Brisbane but service from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast. The owner Renee is an absolute master at what she does and is such a lovely person. I was able to watch from before the ceremony as they setup a beautiful four post arbour, signing table, runway, guest seating and other assorted props for the couple as well as their reception seating. They were able to to it so quickly and were incredibly prosessional throughout. After seeing the first hand I would higly reccommend them to any of my clients. Pay them a visit at www.berryvintagehire.com
